Having just returned from a long weekend at The New Forrest I have found that I am just not done with that beautiful moorland landscape. Luckily a friend of mine stumbled across this gem of a location by chance and I knew I had to share it with you guys!

Lords Piece is located just east of Fittleworth West Sussex (7km west of Pulborough) and there are two car parks on either end which are easy to access AND FREE.
Rumour has it that the heathland is home to a very rare species of field cricket (I’ve googled image searched it….it ain’t pretty.)
This heathland landscape is a refreshing change from the rolling green hills of the South Downs we are used to and I can imagine that as autumn is on its way it would make for a great rolling-in-golden-leaves picnic spot. The sun was so bright that the photos really do not do the beautiful purple heather any justice.
The walk is a circular one with lots of opportunities to take cut through short cuts if you are not walking inclined. We spent about an hour here and did not see one single person, it was deserted, we had the whole place to ourselves.
Well worth checking out this little patch of heather heaven. Stick it into your Satnav and go! Address: Lords Piece, Pulborough, RH20
